Nerpa Tales is an educational mini-game collection about ringed seals, developed as an independent family project. It is designed for children and families, and we are committed to protecting your privacy.
In short: We do not collect any personal data. Everything stays on your device.
The app stores the following data locally on your device using Apple’s standard storage (UserDefaults). This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us:

The app offers optional tips for the developer through Apple’s App Store. These transactions are processed entirely by Apple using their secure payment infrastructure. We do not have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or any transaction details beyond what Apple provides to developers in aggregate sales reports.
Purchases are protected by a parental gate: a question designed for adults must be answered before any purchase screen opens.

The app may show a “Support real nerpas” screen that links to the donation pages of independent seal-conservation organisations. These links open in the system browser, are protected by the same parental gate, and lead to websites we do not operate. We never collect donations inside the app and receive no part of any donation — payments, if any, happen entirely on the organisation’s own website under its own privacy policy.
The app does not use any third-party services, SDKs, or frameworks beyond Apple’s own native frameworks (SpriteKit, GameplayKit, StoreKit, AVFoundation). There are no:
Nerpa Tales is made for children and families. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children or adults — the app collects no personal data whatsoever. Purchases and external links are placed behind a parental gate. The app is designed to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the GDPR, and similar regulations worldwide.
We do not share any data with third parties because we do not collect any data to share.
Since all data is stored locally on your device using Apple’s standard mechanisms, it is protected by your device’s built-in security features, including device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID.
Since we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data to access, modify, or delete. Your locally stored game preferences, scores, and unlocked facts can be reset by uninstalling the app.
If we update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version here with an updated effective date. Significant changes will be noted in app update release notes.
